Prison Break!!

Well…jailbreak actually.
I’m very happy to announce that by no fault of my own I was forced to jailbreak my phone (thanks again ruben). I have fallen in love with it all over again. First thing on the agenda was to change the the theme. Being as I’m a very aesthetically driven person, the hunt for a new one was extremely rewarding.

qik

Qik is a website where you can stream live video from mobile devices straight to the web. I’ve been toying with it for the past few days and it’s fairly close to realtime. Well, impressive for mobile standards anyways. They only have an app for the iPhone through Cydia as of right now. So that means you will need to jailbreak your iPhone if you haven’t already. This app alone is almost worth jailbreaking. Check out qik, watch some other peoples streams and get setup so people can see what’s happening with you.

some awesomeness and not so awesomeness

First off let me just say, yes I know paying for fart app is in fact stupid. However, if I’m gonna shell out $.99 for an app it should be pretty decent. Atomic Fart blows. All the farts sound the same, and when i think of the awesometacular that my 99 pennies could have provided me, I am saddened.

Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I can continue with a less sucky app. PhotoSwap. The basis is you take a picture and it gets randomly sent to another photoswap user. In return you get a picture from a different random photoswap user. From this point you can a) reply to the picture with another picture and have a conversation via photos or b) ignore it and send a new picture all over again. It’s pretty fun because you have to take pictures in real time and cant save any pictures you receive. The is also an option to have a user name and location which will be sent out with each picture you take. Beware though there is a downside: crotch shots, and lots of them. Luckily there is also a report button for just such an occasion.
